These unique lunch events present special guest
speakers discussing issues pertinent to LGBT
professionals and their allies at a sit down lunch.
Special Guest Speakers: UCSD Professors, Dr. Steve Erie & Vladimir Kogan
UCSD political science professors Dr. Steve Erie and Vladimir Kogan, two of the 3 co-authors of Paradise Plundered: Fiscal Crisis & Governance Failures in San Diego, published in August 2011 by Stanford University Press.
Fireworks from their preface: “…the new millennium has not been kind to paradisiacal San Diego. In a few short years, the town’s reputation went from Futureville to Enron-by-the-Sea.”
They state, “This is a study of San Diego’s myriad civic woes.” And they cite a few:
•A pension scandal and huge liability
•Intractable budget deficit
•Public officials resigned or went on trial
•Horrific wildfires
•A city teetering toward bankruptcy
This looks to be an exciting discussion for those who care about San Diego’s future. Don’t miss it!
$25.00 per person (lunch included)
