The Greater San Diego Business Association will hold a mixer heralding the new year in pure rock-n-roll style from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, at the new Hard Rock Hotel in the Gaslamp District. The event will feature food, cocktails and a "Hard Rock" toast for a prosperous 2008.

"The GSDBA welcomes the new year by bringing together old and new members, old and new friends, for business and for fun. We begin the year with hopes and plans for business success and community cohesiveness," said GSDBA Executive Director Joyce Marieb.

Admission is $10 for GSDBA members and $15 for guests, which includes food and the first drink free. The hotel is located at 207 Fifth Ave.
