GSDBA DIRECTORY COVER TO BE CHOSEN AT ART INSTITUTE MIXER
Members of the Greater San Diego Business Association will vote on a cover design for its 2006 Directory at a mixer scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 14, at the San Diego Art Institute, 1439 El Prado, in Balboa Park.
The entries, submitted by local graphic artists, will be prominently displayed at the event as GSDBA members vote on their favorite selections. The winning artist will receive $700 and be announced that evening.
"The ambience of the Art Institute provides a fitting backdrop to the artistic cover submissions," says Joyce Marieb, executive director of the GSDBA. "We’re expecting more entries than ever before."
Distribution of the new directories will take place in January with a print run of 30,000 copies. "We’re using coated matte paper to give the 2006 books a slimmer and more contemporary look," adds Marieb.
The mixer is sponsored by Timothy Fields of the Art Institute, Donna Cunning of Allsure Insurance, Eric Brown of Waddell & Reed and The Caterer, Bill Bond, who will provide the food.
Admission to the mixer is $5 for members and $7 for guests, which includes the first drink free. For more information, call the GSDBA office at 619-296-4543.
