2011 Business Awards

Help recognize business and community leaders by nominating businesses that best exemplify the values and business success for which GSDBA stands. The awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Luncheon on Thursday, June 23rd.

THE PROCESS
1. Nominations are made through the Application printed on the reverse side of this page (this form can also be completed online at gsdba.org.)
2. Nominations are reviewed by the Awards Committee consisting of GSDBA members including the Board Vice Chair. In order to be selected a candidate must receive support from a majority of the Awards Committee members.
3. Eligibility will be based on the criteria outlined.
4. Awards are presented on June 23rd at the Annual Awards Luncheon. Recipients will also be honored in the 2012 Directory, in e-blasts promoting the event, and on the GSDBA web site.
5. Current staff, Board members and Awards Committee members are not eligible to participate.

THE AWARD CRITERIA :

GSDBA BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
The recipient of this award must meet or exceed the following criteria:
•Be a member of the GSDBA for a minimum of two years.
•Demonstrate excellence and success in business or profession.
•Visibly support the LGBT community by providing contributions and/or in kind services and other support to nonprofit organizations, political issues, or community-wide causes.

NONPROFIT OF THE YEAR
The recipient of this award must meet or exceed the following criteria:
•The recipient of the award need not be a member of GSDBA.
•Be a nonprofit organization with 501(c) 3 status.
•Openly support issues and/or provide services that benefit and enhance the health, spirit, pride and diversity of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender individuals and our community.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD
The recipient of this award must meet or exceed the following criteria:
•The recipient of the award need not be a member of GSDBA.
•Demonstrate leadership that benefits the LGBT community by having contributed significantly to the success of one or more local LGBT organizations.
•Openly support issues that affect the spirit, pride and diversity of LGBT people.
•Recipient may be an individual or an organization.

GSDBA EMERGING BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
The recipient of this award must meet or exceed the following criteria:
•Be in business one to three years.
•Be a GSDBA member for at least 1 year.
•Demonstrate excellence and success in business or profession.
•Visibly support the LGBT community by providing contributions and/or in kind services and other support to nonprofit organizations, political issues, or community-wide causes.

CORPORATE PARTNER OF THE YEAR
The recipient of this award must meet or exceed the following criteria:
•The recipient of the award need not be a member of GSDBA.
•Demonstrate excellence in business.
•Provide all benefits to LGBT employees and non-LGBT employees alike.
•Openly support the LGBT community.
•Visibly support the LGBT community by providing contributions and/or in kind services and other support to nonprofit organizations, political issues, or community-wide causes.

CORPORATE DIVERSITY LEADER
The recipient of this award must meet or exceed the following criteria:
•The recipient of the award need not be a member of GSDBA.
•Demonstrate excellence in business.
•Provide all benefits to LGBT employees and non-LGBT employees alike.
•Openly support the LGBT community.
•Visibly support the LGBT community by providing contributions and/or in kind services and other support to nonprofit organizations, political issues, or community-wide causes.
•Be nationally recognized as a leader in supporting LGBT diversity in the workplace and community.
